Odd Orbit is a free, ad-free phone web app that renders a live 3D MapLibre globe (open at oddorbit.app) showing real-time environmental, space, and transportation data without accounts or tracking. Core live layers include USGS earthquakes (M2.5+ past 24 hours), nearby aircraft from public ADS-B, MET Norway wind arrows, ISS position and ground track plus other satellites via CelesTrak, NOAA SWPC aurora and solar-storm products (D-RAP, Kp/G-scale, GOES X-ray), NASA VIIRS active-fire detections, daily true-color satellite imagery and GOES GeoColor clouds via NASA GIBS, NOAA nowCOAST radar, NWS/NHC storm warnings and cones, a day/night terminator, and NASA Black Marble city lights. Layer sources and refresh rates are documented, and live satellite imagery and data require an internet connection.
A labeled "Mystery Pack" presents folklore and report-based layers - UFO witness heat maps and famous-case pins (NUFORC/GEP), cryptid/Bigfoot-style reports, ley lines, caves/mines, curated ancient sites, internet-creepypasta mode, and a playful Fringe Signals dot tied to the NIST Randomness Beacon - explicitly presented as reports, rumor, or fiction, not verified fact. Technical notes: JavaScript is required for the interactive globe, the app can display an offline notice when disconnected, privacy is cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics only, and tips via Ko-fi are accepted to support hosting.
