Photos show damage at U.S. positions caused by Iranian missile, drone attacks

Exclusive images obtained from active U.S. service members reveal extensive damage to American bases across the Middle East after Iranian missile and drone strikes. Photographs show a Boeing E-3 Sentry with its tail severed at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, hollowed-out barracks whose concrete T-walls offered little protection against aerial assault, destroyed trailers and vehicles at Camp Buehring in Kuwait, and damaged buildings at Camp Arifjan. Troops who provided the images anonymously say the scale of destruction has not been fully communicated to the public and describe a sense of bases being left exposed; the Pentagon did not respond to requests for comment.

The visual evidence complements a Defense Department inspector general report documenting equipment losses as high as $3.7 billion, including nearly 60 aircraft, and notes Iranian strikes at U.S. positions in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman and Jordan. The strikes have contributed to weapons shortages and steep operational costs - Congressional Budget Office estimates put the monthly price of the conflict around $2 billion - and have intensified domestic political fallout, including moves to hold Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth accountable over perceived failures in defending forces after incidents such as the March 1 Port of Shuaiba attack that killed six U.S. troops.
