Gooseworks (YC W23) is a San Francisco-based startup that builds self-improving AI agents to run creative and growth for consumer brands, automating ad, UGC and organic creative at scale. It frames distribution - not product creation - as the core problem and claims its agent harnesses brand assets, ad performance, competitor signals and trends to generate increasingly effective short-form video and ad creative. The company is very early but shows traction: 200+ paying customers, over 30,000 ad creatives generated in two months, a 1.1k‑star skill library, a subreddit with roughly 50k monthly visitors and viral activity on X. The founding team previously built Athina AI, an LLM observability and evaluation platform.

The open role is a Founding Engineer / “Founding Builder” who will own product and engineering decisions, ship features, talk to users and build agentic systems end-to-end. Core responsibilities include creative generation agents that understand brand performance, multi-channel distribution architecture, self‑improving generation that reads ad metrics, and the app/pipeline/harnesses that amplify a small team. Requirements are strong full‑stack chops, a shipped product with traction, experience designing agentic systems and strong product/design sense. Compensation is $150K-$250K plus 0.5-2% equity, San Francisco in‑person strongly preferred (remote only for exceptional candidates), stack is TypeScript/Next.js/Prisma/Postgres with Claude Agent SDK and Trigger.dev, and the interview loop is designed to move rapidly.
