Anthropic has released a public beta that brings Claude directly into Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides via a Workspace add‑on and separate connectors. Once installed, Claude opens in a sidebar next to an open file, can read the document or selected cells/slides, and makes edits in place or proposes them as approval cards. In Docs it can correct sentences, restyle headings, perform larger rewrites as suggested edits, tighten executive summaries and convert lists into tables. In Sheets it writes formulas, builds pivot tables and native charts, creates tabs, and can pull ranges into Python for joins and data cleaning; an example workflow generates a multi‑tab Q3 budget vs. actuals report with summary charts and flags overruns. In Slides it creates new slides matched to existing layouts, checks for layout issues and low‑contrast text, and can apply changes either one-by-one (“Ask before edits”) or automatically (“Accept all edits”).

The sidebar preserves the same models, connectors and saved skills available in Claude, so you can pull Salesforce history or Drive notes into a QBR and reuse a saved deck format. Connectors let you start in Claude and create or edit Google files from chat; access respects Google sharing permissions. Enterprise controls such as Compliance API, customer‑managed encryption keys, and OpenTelemetry audit export apply to the add‑on. Installation is via the Google Workspace Marketplace, with domain or group deployment and connector enablement handled by admins or owners on Team and Enterprise plans.
