Apple’s new Apple TV 4K is a redesigned streaming and home-hub device centered on an all-new Siri AI driven by Apple Intelligence, offering a full-screen, conversational discovery experience and hands-free control via three far-field microphones with advanced echo cancellation. It packs an A19 chip for up to 50% faster CPU and up to 2x faster GPU performance versus the prior model and adds a dedicated AV1 decoder for more efficient streaming. The Siri Remote keeps its familiar shape but gains Find My support with Precision Finding and a ping sound. For audio, Apple now supports a four‑speaker surround setup using four HomePod mini 2 or HomePod (2nd generation) units that auto-calibrate timing and levels, promising Apple’s most immersive home-theater pairing yet.
Functioning as an enhanced home hub, the unit provides Apple Intelligence-generated camera activity descriptions, summarized notifications, automations, guest mode, and secure local HomeKit Secure Video processing, while Siri AI can perform systemwide app actions and tap personal context from an enabled iPhone. Privacy features include Secure Exclaves on the A19 and optional Private Cloud Compute where data isn’t stored or accessible to Apple. Additional features include Apple Fitness+, Apple Arcade, Continuity Camera FaceTime, customizable iCloud photo displays, and recycled-material construction. Preorders begin immediately with in-store availability on November 13, priced at $299 (or $49.83/month for six months); Siri AI launches in beta on Apple TV (2nd gen or later) and in English in several countries at release.
