A new Apple smart-home display and speaker, Apple HomeView combines a 7-inch Liquid Retina touchscreen (True Tone, 500 nits max to 0.3 nits low-light) with a domed aluminum base and stainless-steel hinge, offered in Silver, Starlight, Rose Pink, and Space Gray. It packs a 12MP Center Stage camera for automatic framing, a four-microphone beamforming array, two custom full-range drivers in the display, a down-firing woofer, and two force‑cancelling passive radiators for Spatial Audio and room-filling sound. A wall-mounted model is available with wired or plug-in options. It recognizes up to six people and supports multiroom audio via AirPlay, Handoff from iPhone/iPad, and hands-free FaceTime calls.
Software centers on Siri AI powered by Apple Intelligence to surface personal context, world knowledge, and continued conversations across devices; Siri starts in English and may have usage limits. HomeView functions as a smart‑home hub integrated with the Home app and a new Home Collection, showing modular dashboards, up to nine camera feeds, grouped notifications, smoke/CO sound detection alerts, and easy scene/automation control. Apple emphasizes on-device and Private Cloud Compute privacy measures to keep personal data separate and not stored for access, and supports native Apple apps plus compatible third-party audio/video from an iPhone. Availability begins November 13 with pre-orders open.
